There’s been a lot of chatter on the Web lately about the humble press
release. I refuse to believe the press release is a thing of the past, but I do agree that many releases are far too "fluffy." If a reporter can’t scan the release and pick out the important information, then the release isn’t doing its job.
I really like Todd Defren’s take on "the press release of tomorrow," which is extremely to-the-point and easy to read. I’ll be interested to see if it catches on.
Thanks for the kind words, Eric! We’ll see if this “takes off” at all. Most of the feedback (to my email, and some of the comments) has been negative…which leads me to conclude that it MUST be a good idea.
